Here in North West Norfolk, Cub Scouting can be found everywhere; from the smaller rural villages such as Docking and Snettisham, to the larger town area of King’s Lynn.
There are 16 packs in the North West Norfolk District, regularly coming together to experience Scouting in many different ways. From outdoor activity days, to trips to museums, from themed camps to competitions, there is something on offer for many young people throughout the calendar year.
Cubs is for girls and boys aged 7 ¾ to 10 years old. Signing your young person up to Scouting gives them the chance to develop important life skills, learn lots about the world around them, experience new things – and have an immense amount of fun at the same time!
Among the Cub & Scout groups attending the activity day at Wolferton (the home of our district Scout & Guide campsite) in May 2o1o were Dersingham 1st Cubs, Docking Cubs and Heacham Cubs. Activities enjoyed by the young people attending the Wolferton activity day held in May 2010 included safe fire lighting and pioneering skills, pitching tents, tracking skills, how to tie knots, how to use compasses and catapults and they also learnt about nature.
In addition they cooked pancakes and went on walks and trails. There was also plenty of fun and games too. These included the Buzz Game, circus skills, face painting, welly wanging and more.
