It was a lovely sunny day in June and off we went with a few friends to Park House for lunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday.  We had made an advance booking which was efficiently confirmed by a friendly voice at the end of the phone and everything was in order.

We were unsure what to expect as we had never been to Park House before and had not even thought of Park House as a place to lunch.  That was until our neighbour kindly mentioned that they did lovely lunches there.  How right he was!

Park House Hotel is set in an impressive Victorian country house, within its own grounds amidst soaring trees and rolling parklands of  Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.  The hotel boasts an enviable country location, with easy access to the market town of King’s Lynn.

We waded our way through starters, mains and most of us even had dessert.  The attentive service was first class.  Between us we tried the Prawn Cocktail and Breaded Mushrooms for starters all beautifully dressed.  For mains we sampled Honey Glazed Ham, Egg & Chips, Scampi & Chips and Breaded Chicken Breast with each meal appropriately adorned with garnishes.  A few of us enjoyed the wonderful Summer Fruits Pudding with icecream whilst others tucked into the Chocolate Pudding which also looked scrummy. The prices were very reasonable too.

It was a very peaceful and tranquil lunch, perfect for a lazy summer’s day among friends and to cap it all we were helping to swell the coffers of the worthwhile charity who runs the award winning Park House to enable disabled guests and their carers or companions to have a holiday or respite break together in the Norfolk.

Park House Hotel is set in an impressive Victorian country house, within its own grounds amidst soaring trees and rolling parklands of  Sandringham Estate in West Norfolk.  The hotel boasts an incredible country location, with easy access to the market town of King’s Lynn, the surrounding countryside and West Norfolk coastal resorts such as Hunstanton and Heacham.

We will certainly be dining at Park House again in the near future.  Should you decide to dine at Park House please remember to call and prebook on 01485 543000 and prepare to be delighted with your choice.
