Pantomime season is in the air as the Christmas season draws nearer and we in West Norfolk are blessed – yes truly blessed – when it comes to pantomime. In 2010 the pantomime was cancelled in Hunstanton never to be seen again BUT as time has gone on Hunstanton now has not one but TWO pantomimes in 2015.  There is also the pantomime in Kings Lynn at the Corn Exchange.  So in West Norfolk we have THREE PANTOMIMES to enjoy this festive season. I recently paid a visit to Hunstanton Sea Life Sanctuary and was delighted to see the adorable Pendle in fine form.   Brain damaged Pendle and I met at the re-opening of the Sea Life Sanctuary when I learned that he had arrived at the Sea Life Sanctuary at just 11 days old.  I was very pleased to see that Pendle was as friendly and as sociable as ever. Bircham Windmill Country Day Draws the Crowds

The Bank Holiday Country Day held at Bircham Windmill saw a fantastic turnout on the day with the carpark extending out into adjacent fields.  The traditional Bank Holiday weather was not evident for the event but it did get noticeably colder by 3pm. The family day out opened with Morris Dancing and pony rides to amuse the children.  The opportunity to burn up excess energy was enthusiastically taken up by many children taking part in the “Children’s Show Jumping” which was available throughout the morning until mid-lunch time. Aquarist Natalie Emmerson has been entrusted with a very special job…nurse to a fast-growing litter of baby seahorses. Feeding and caring for around 20 fast-growing baby Australian big-bellied seahorses is a huge responsibility for the 28-year-old Natalie Emmerson, a displays team member at Hunstanton Sea Life Sanctuary.  Experienced senior colleague Chris Power advises and supervises, but he has been quick to harness Natalie’s natural ‘maternal’ instincts and assign her as chief seahorse nursery nurse in his absence.
