Late May Bank Holiday Bin & Bagged Waste Collection

  Waste collections for bin and bagged waste will take place one day later next week (31 May – 5 June) because of the Spring Bank Holiday on Monday 31 May.  Monday’s collection will be on Tuesday; Tuesday’s collection on Wednesday, and so on. The collection due on Friday 4 June will be collected on Saturday 5 June.  Normal collections will resume on Monday 7 June. Drop in to find out about coastal sea defences

The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk and the Environment Agency will be holding drop-in sessions to talk to local residents about coastal sea defences, and how those defences will be funded in future. Vital sea defences between Wolferton Creek and South Hunstanton will only be maintained in the future if the local community and its partners contribute towards the annual costs. Twinning Hunstanton & USAF 67th Special Ops Squadron

For almost 60 years a memorial in the Esplanade Gardens was the only visible sign of the shared grief and heroism which united Hunstanton with the USAF 67th Squadron following the terrible 1953 floods.  However, when Flt Sgt Mark Service (official historian from RAF Sculthorpe) invited Hunstanton Civic Society to join together in commemorating the 60th anniversary of the USAF 67th (now based at Mildenhall) this resulted in welcoming the Squadron back to Hunstanton in a special way by giving them the Freedom of the Town (Saturday,4 October 2014) and has now … Continue reading

Sleeping Beauty Graces Hunstanton

The film of Matthew Bourne’s live ballet “Sleeping Beauty” screened at Hunstanton’s Princess Theatre on 3 May 2016.  “SLEEPING BEAUTY” was created for the New Adventures 25th birthday celebrations and completed Bourne’s trio of re-imagined Tchaikovsky ballet masterworks beginning in 1992 with “Nutcracker!” followed in 1995, by the reknowned international hit “Swan Lake”. Silica Sand Proposal for Beach Road, Snettisham

Snettisham Parish Council have issued a notice that the village of Snettisham may have a problem with a major proposal to dig for silica sand in the area to the left of Beach Rd when heading to the sea. It is unknown as yet whether this area will in fact be included in the consultation, but Snettisham Parish Council wishes to make all local residents aware and to prepare for a possible fight against this proposal.
