‘IF IT’S LAUGHTER YOU’RE AFTER’ with Olly Day and Nigel ‘Boy’ Syer
Thursday afternoons throughout July and September @2.30pm
“With songs and sketches and jokes old and new…….”
Join Olly Day, master of magic and mirth and Nigel ‘boy’ Syer, Norfolk’s funniest accordionist, for a great afternoon’s entertainment as these ever-popular comedians sail into Hunstanton’s Princess Theatre for this year’s summer season.
Following on from the success of last year, the masters of mirth come together again in this all new show for 2015. Billed as ‘The Real Norfolk Show’ ‘If it’s Laughter You’re After’ A fun filled afternoon of music and comedy songs as well as lots of Norfolk ‘squit’, along with some fabulous magic too!
This year’s finale sees Nigel and Olly as a pair of salty East Coast fishermen, singing a sea shanty specially written for the show as well as some great gags and songs with a seaside flavour! Olly says, “its going to be nautical but nice!”
Nigel ‘boy’ Syer has built up a huge following all over East Anglia. Known as Norfolk’s funniest accordionist, he will be performing his own special brand of comedy and country songs. Olly Day is a comedian and magician; he has a great singing voice and has spent the last six years at the end of the pier in Cromer, starring in their Christmas show. Their special guest, Maria Willis, is Norfolk’s latest new talent. She is a young singer from Wroxham, who is back by popular demand in Hunstanton after ‘wowing’ audiences in the show last year. Maria recently performed on stage in Norwich in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ and is about to return to Wales to sing in their famous eisteddfod. Maria will be showcasing some beautiful songs from the world of pop as well as some of her favourite classical arias.
Olly says, ‘The Princess Theatre is one of the gems of Norfolk. It has such a great atmosphere. The laughs roll towards you like big waves’.
Nigel says, ‘We’re having such fun with the Laughter Show this year. After performing on my own for so long, it’s great to be part of a double act. It gives us the chance to perform so many different sketches and comedy songs. The audiences are loving it too!’
Both Nigel and Olly have been performing to packed houses at Gorleston in their Summer Laughter Show and are looking forward to venturing to the other side of Norfolk, with ‘If it’s Laughter You’re After’ again this summer.
