Resounding Support for Hunstanton Carnival 2016

With nothing but voluntary donations to keep Hunstanton Carnival growing, Cllr Steve Ellis, Graham Peel and Nicki Bowman have pulled off their best Carnival yet judging by the tremendous numbers filling the streets at this year’s Carnival.  The official opening of the 2016 Carnival which had a theme of “The Best of British” – was conducted by Hunstanton Mayor Cllr James Johnson supported by Carnival Queen, Makayla Rule, and her Princesses (Purity-Rose Ologhoejebi, Lily Rose, Eleanor Hollin and Zerrin Mitchell) and, of course, the ever popular Carnival Lion. Wind, Rain & Shine with Wildcats – What a Day for Hunstanton Carnival!

The day began inauspiciously with stallholders and volunteers battling wind and rain as they went about setting up this year’s Carnival.  “The show must go on” attitude prevailed whilst there was some crossing of fingers no doubt!  The Hunstanton Carnival was then duly opened at 11am by Deputy Mayor Cllr James Johnson and followed by some chuckles courtesy of the talented young Conor Blake.  Conor battled valiantly against the damp and windy conditions but he was a real trouper and did his best to provide some cheer for the brave … Continue reading
