Searles Fishing lakes in Hunstanton are a popular choice for local fishing.
Located next to the bowling green and Searles Country Club, the two
fishing lakes (6 pegs on each) are linked by a cascading weir. Stocked with
Rudd, Roach, Tench and Carp up to 18lb. Full day, half-day and hourly tickets are
available, with the lakes open daily from 8am (rules and conditions
apply, no keepnets or barbed hooks are permittted).
Springside
Lake, Ingoldisthorpe, located on the A149 Snettisham to Dersingham
bypass is another great fishing spot. There is one lake with 23
pegs and fishing is permitted from 7am till dusk. Evening Open
Matches take place on Tuesdays from May through September. Please
note: booking is essential for Open Matches. The lake is stocked
with Roach and Rudd weighing up to 2lbs, Bream up to 8lbs, Tench up to
7lbs, Barel up to 6lbs and Common, Mirror and Ghost Carp up to 25lbs.
Barbless hooks are permitted up to a maximum of size 10. Day
tickets are available on the bank or from Hunstanton Tackle. For

The Clay Pit, Back Lane, Docking - just turn left opposite the fish and chip shop and you will find them. They have one fishing lake with 21 pegs and fishing is permitted from 8am until 11pm. Fishermen must have their own unhooking mat and landing net and use only barbless hooks. No groundbait, hemp or surface fishing is allowed. This fishing lake is stocked with Roach and Rudd up to 1lb, Bream up to 4lbs, Perch up to 1lb, Tench up to 6lbs and Common, Mirror and Wild Carp to 18lbs. There is no Pike fishing. Day tickets are available from Monday to Friday from D Wright Auto Repairs, High Street, Docking. On Saturdays day tickets are only available from the bailiff and there are no day tickets on Sundays as this is reserved for members only. For more information call 01485 518185.
Pocahontas Lake, Heacham is situated in Heacham village close to St Mary's Church on the opposite side of the road. There is one lake and fishing is by appointment only. Unhooking mats and barbless hooks must be used. Pocahontas Lake is stocked with Roach, Bream, Tench and Carp weighing up to 20lbs plus. Tickets are by arrangement with the bailiffs. The River Hitch in Heacham runs through North and South Beach in Heacham. This river is stocked with Roach, Rudd, Dace, Chub, Bream, Tench and Carp and is one of the few places where it is free to fish from the footpaths.
Shepherds Port, Snettisham is located off Beach Road on the RSPB Bird
Reserve and is owned by Kings Lynn Angling Association. Shepherds
Port is a complex of four fishing lakes (Bear Lake, Stantons Lake,
Shepherd Lake and Ken Hill Lake). Bear Lake is alive with Carp
from between 3lbs and 20lbs. It is a small round lake with a
central island. Other fish species known here are Roach and Tench.
Stantons Lake is a fixed fishery with a good head of big Bream and
quality Roach. There is also some large Carp into double figures
to be found. 100lbs of Bream is also possible. Shepherd Lake
is also a mixed fishery with Roach, Skimmers and Bream are prevalent and
Tench, Carp and Perch as also found here. Ken Hill Lake is a
narrow lake running alongside the sea defence wall and offers good
Roach, Rudd and Tench fishing year round. Membership is available
from Hunstanton Tackle and no day tickets are possible.
