Travel - planes, trains, cars and buses

Travel in and Around Norfolk

Travel through Norfolk can be difficult without a car.  However, the bus routes are amazingly well serviced - particularly along the coastal areas and in and around Sandringham villages.

Trains

Kings Lynn is the nearest main line train station to Heacham with regular direct trains to London Kings Cross as well as Ely and Cambridge. Norwich also has a cross country service to Peterborough. Click on the box heading for National Rail Enquiries.

Buses

The Coast Hopper bus service is a very popular way to travel around this part of Norfolk.  There are also numerous buses to and from Kings Lynn and Hunstanton with excellent coverage around the Sandringham area. Click on the box heading for Norfolk Green bus enquiries.

Planes

Kings Lynn is the nearest main line train station to Heacham with regular direct trains to London Kings Cross as well as Ely and Cambridge. Norwich also has a cross country service to Peterborough.  Click on the box heading for Airport Information.

Cars and Major Roads

The major roads are the A149, A148, A47 and A10.  In the summer months the coastal A149 can be particularly congested so it is best to set off early to minimise delays.  Click on the box heading for BBC Norfolk road news.
